The manufacturing process of fire pumps mainly includes the processing and manufacturing of components such as impellers, pump bodies, and pump covers. The most critical process is the impeller manufacturing process. The impeller manufacturing process includes initial paper mold casting, machining, and static balance testing.
1. Initial Paper Mold Casting
Using computer-aided design (CAD) software, a model is designed and created based on the impeller's geometry and standards. The model is then placed in a specialized casting machine for initial paper mold casting.
2. Machining
Using CNC machining centers and other equipment, the raw materials are machined into geometric shapes that meet the design requirements. The geometric parameters of the impeller, such as its planes, tooth profiles, and blades, are the most critical.
3. Static Balance Testing
The fire pump impeller is a rotating component. To avoid vibration and noise, static balance testing must be performed during the manufacturing process. Specialized equipment is used to perform dynamic balance testing on the impeller to ensure smooth operation of the impeller rotor.
